Paragon ID appoints Andrew Price as Vice President of Aviation Solutions

After nearly 30 years of working in the aviation industry, Andrew brings with him a wealth of expertise in airport operations. Having previously worked for IATA and British Airways, he spearheaded the baggage vision for the industry and introduced many standards including the famous Resolution 753 on baggage tracking. 

Andrew has a passion for reducing the cost of baggage handling, on which the industry spends around $10 for every passenger bag, resulting in an estimated total of over $27 billion during 2022*. He has worked for the sector’s leading system integrators, achieving significant reductions in baggage mishandling for airline giants like Delta and American.

In addition, Andrew is known for pioneering RFID in the aviation industry during his time at British Airways and then standardising the technology while at IATA. Using RFID enabled luggage tags can guarantee the correct identification of bags and helps achieve Resolution 753 compliance without the costs and errors associated with hand-held scanning. 

In his new role at Paragon ID, Andrew will be driving the adoption of the company’s many solutions for the aviation industry. He will be working closely with Montassar Ben Hmida, who has recently been appointed head of Paragon ID’s aviation activities in addition to his position as CEO of the company’s subsidiary Security Label, the leading manufacturer of baggage tags. 

Together Andrew and Montassar will be driving the development of all of Paragon ID’s aviation solutions, harnessing the strength of its diverse product portfolio. The goal will be a tailored offering for the aviation industry, featuring innovative, holistic solutions including tracking and identification, printing as well as data driven insights.
