Offering two-factor authentication for contactless payments

Paragon ID’s subsidiary Thames Technology has launched a new innovative product aimed at the banking and financial sector: a biometric payment card.

The new card, uses a built-in fingerprint sensor to securely authenticate a contact or contactless transaction, to provide high levels of security and an enhanced customer experience.

Thames Technology’s new biometric card offers secure two-factor authentication for each transaction coupled with the convenience of contactless payment which has become the preferred method of payment in many countries since the beginning of the health crisis.

This new offering is backed by an established pilot programme and gives banks and financial organisations the opportunity to provide a method of payment which combines security and contactless technology, in line with their clients’ changing expectations.

Our colleague at Thames Technology, Angela Davies, Head of Financial and ID Sales comments: “Combining improved security and enhanced customer experience, this new technology will reflect positively on the brand of any financial organisations who will choose to add it to its portfolio. I am convinced this card will become top of the wallet.”
